Anglican Chaplaincy Tasmania

Education and Training

The equipping of people to work as chaplains has been part of the vision of ACT. More than 170 people from most denominations have successfully completed one or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Many of these are now engaged in chaplaincy work.

CPE is an action reflection model of education that provides an excellent tool for training people for the provision of pastoral care both within an institutional or a community ministry. In a recent survey a former participant wrote:

"CPE was the starting point in working with and understanding the marginalised, fragmented people of our society. It also provided the opportunity for getting in touch with my fragmented self, to be able to work more effectively and more professionally. CPE is hard, but to be in touch with the True Self is a blessing."

CPE Graduation

Anglican Chaplaincy Tasmania offers training in aspects of pastoral ministry by conducting seminar units of Clinical Pastoral Education and Individual Supervision.

Chaplains are available as guest speakers for organisations and groups.
