Anglican Chaplaincy Tasmania
ACT was established by Synod in
1999 as the organisation responsible for the provision and
management of Chaplaincy throughout the diocese.
The Ordinance provides for a Board of
Management which meets regularly.
ACT provides chaplaincy
services to Risdon Prison, the Royal Hobart Hospital, Hobart
Private, the Palliative Care Unit, the Launceston General
Hospital and the Burnie Campus of the North West Regional.
The Manor Gardens, St Luke's and St Vincent's
in Launceston, Eastside Care and ADARDS in Hobart are also
under its auspices.
The chaplains provide for 24 hours cover
of the hospital or home to which they are appointed. All
the chaplains have completed at least one unit of Clinical
Pastoral Education and engage in ongoing training.
